A customer record
Opening a customer from the list takes you to their record: a header with their status, any groups and tags, their primary contact, and their currency and payment terms, with a strip of tabs underneath for everything that belongs to them.
The tabs, and what each holds: Overview, the summary; Contacts, the people at this company and whether they can sign in to the portal (see "Contacts and portal access"); Notes, free-text entries your team leaves for each other; Estimates and Proposals, if your firm sells that way; Invoices, Payments, Credit notes and Subscriptions, their billing history; Statement, a running account of what they owe; Projects and Tasks, if delivery work is tracked for them; Contracts, anything signed; Tickets, their support history; Meetings booked with them; Files shared with or about them; Reminders set against them; and Activity, a log of what happened and when. A tab only appears if your firm has the module it needs switched on, and only if you hold the permission for what is in it — a colleague who cannot see invoices does not get an Invoices tab on the same customer you are looking at.
Changing status: the control beside the customer's name lets you mark them active or inactive; only someone who can delete a customer can also deactivate one.
What happens next: nothing on this page is billed or sent on its own — each tab's own actions (raising an invoice, logging a note) are where you make changes; this page is where you see them together.
When it refuses: a tab that is missing is a permission or a module your firm has not switched on, not a fault — ask an Owner or Admin if you expect to see it.
