The leads list and board

Enquiries that are not yet customers: a name, a company, a value, and a status showing how far along they are. Only offered where your firm sells this way — the Leads module has to be switched on.

Two views of the same pipeline: the list, sortable and filterable like any other; and the board, one column per status, where you drag a lead from column to column as it moves along. Both show the same leads.

The stats above them: how many leads are in the current view, and the pipeline's total value by currency — a lead you have not yet valued counts toward "not valued yet", not toward zero, since the two are different claims.

Adding a lead: by hand from "New lead", or automatically from a web-to-lead form (see "Web-to-lead forms") or an estimate request that also creates one.

Working a lead: open one to see its details, log a contact (which stamps when you last reached them, for your firm's own "not contacted recently" view), or edit it. Statuses and sources are set up by your firm under Setup; some statuses are marked as won or lost, which is what drives what happens next.

Once a lead is won: it can be converted — see "Converting a lead" and its "Convert to customer" button. Some firms lock a lead against further edits once it converts, so its history matches what it looked like when it became a customer.

A narrower view: a role with only its own leads (a custom role built that way, or a Viewer, who reads every lead but writes none) sees the same screens, scoped or read-only as their role sets.

When it refuses: no Leads item in your menu means either your firm has not switched leads on, or you do not hold the permission — ask an Owner or Admin.
