Your dashboard
The screen you land on after signing in: a set of panels giving you a running view of the work, built from what you are allowed to see rather than one fixed layout for everyone.
When you would use this: as your starting point each day, before going to a specific list.
What you might see: quick statistics; a finance overview and payment records, if you read invoices and payments; leads, if your firm sells that way and you read them; project status; "my work" — what is waiting on you today; contracts expiring soon; a staff ticket report, if you work the support desk; and your own to-do list. Some panels only show once they have something to report — a contracts panel with nothing expiring in the next month does not appear at all, and there is nothing to switch on for it.
Customising it: use the dashboard options control to hide panels you do not want and bring back ones you have hidden. Only panels that are always either shown or hidden (not the ones that only appear when they have data) offer this switch.
What each panel means: hover or open a panel's own screen (many link through to the full list) for the detail behind a number — the dashboard is a summary, never the only place a figure lives.
When it refuses: a panel you expect is missing because you do not hold the permission it needs, or your firm has not enabled the feature behind it (invoicing, leads, contracts, and so on). Ask an Owner or Admin if you believe you should have it.
