Tasks
The work itself — a board or a list of everything to do, whether it sits inside a project, on one of a project's milestones, or stands alone.
When you would use this: day to day, for what you and your team are actually doing next.
Two views of the same tasks: a board, by status, where dragging a card moves it; and a list, sortable and filterable the same way any other list is. Switching between them keeps your filters — "Mine" is a filter on the assignee, not a separate screen, so it survives a refresh or a pasted link.
Statuses: To do, In progress, In review, Blocked, Done or Cancelled — moved by hand as the work actually changes, on the board or on the task itself.
Adding one: a title, an optional longer description, a status and priority (Low, Medium, High, Urgent), start and due dates, who it is assigned to, and — inside a project — which milestone, if any, it belongs to. A reader who may see money can also mark it billable and give it its own hourly rate, which overrides the project's default rate for time logged against this task specifically. Marking a task visible to the client is what lets a customer with the right project permission see it in their portal.
Repeating a task: give it a schedule — every so many days, weeks or months — and an end date or a maximum number of copies, and the product raises a fresh copy on that schedule. A copy does not itself repeat, and editing the original after copies have already been made cannot rewind what has already been produced.
Checklists: a task can carry its own checklist, filled in one at a time or, faster, from a saved template (see "Checklist templates") — filling from a template copies the items onto the task; editing the template afterwards changes nothing already on it.
A narrower view: a role scoped to their own tasks sees the same board and list, narrowed to what they are assigned or on a project of theirs; a Contractor may create and move tasks but sees no money on any of them.
When it refuses: "You cannot create tasks" means you can see the board but not add to it — ask an Owner or Admin.
