Timesheets
Time worked, in whole minutes, logged against a project or one of its tasks. The rate an entry is worth — if you may see money at all — is fixed at the moment it is logged, so a later change to a project's or task's rate never rewrites what has already been recorded.
When you would use this: logging your own hours, reviewing the team's, or turning billable hours nobody has invoiced yet into an invoice.
Logging time: a timer you start and stop against a project or task, for when you are working right now, or a form to add a duration by hand for time already worked — a day, a project or task, a duration typed however is natural, an optional note, and whether it is billable. Only one timer runs at a time.
My time: your own week, day by day, with billable and non-billable totals shown separately, and every entry editable or deletable up to the point it is invoiced — once billed, an entry is locked, since re-billing an already-invoiced hour is exactly the mistake this rule exists to prevent.
All time: for a reader who may see the whole team's, the same entries across everyone, filterable by person, project, task, dates, billable and whether they have been invoiced yet, with a CSV export.
Team hours: utilisation per person, hours by week, and when the work was actually logged — a wider view for planning and reviewing workload rather than billing.
Turning time into an invoice: "Unbilled time" lists billable, not-yet-invoiced entries with what they are worth; pick the ones for one customer and either start a new draft invoice from them or add them onto a draft that already exists for that customer. Each entry lands on an invoice exactly once.
A narrower view: a Contractor logs and edits only their own time and never sees an amount next to it. Seeing everyone else's timesheets, editing or deleting somebody else's entry, and billing time onto an invoice are each their own, separate permission.
When it refuses: an entry that has been invoiced can no longer be edited or deleted from here — that protects the invoice it is now part of, not a fault. "Time is not available to your role" means you lack the permission to log it at all — ask an Owner or Admin.
