Income vs expenses
Revenue against spend, month by month, and the margin between them — never a profit and loss statement, and said so on the screen itself.
When you would use this: to see whether the firm is ahead or behind over a range, at a glance, rather than reading the sales and expenses reports side by side and doing the subtraction yourself.
Cash or accrual: a toggle at the top switches the whole report between the two bases — cash counts money as it actually moved (invoiced and paid), accrual counts it as it was raised or incurred, whichever the toggle's own label explains for the basis you are on.
The charts, per currency: income and expenses as grouped bars, month by month, and margin as its own line beneath them — deliberately two charts, not one with a second axis, because a total and a running difference do not share a scale. A month still in progress is marked on both the chart and the table, and its bar covers only the days elapsed so far, not the whole month.
Every currency shown separately: a block per currency, each with its own charts and its own table — this report in particular exists to compare income against spend, and converting one currency into another to force a single number would make that comparison meaningless.
A narrower view: without this permission the report does not open — there is no version scoped to only your own figures.
When it refuses: "Margin is not available to your role" means the same permission gap as the Sales and Expenses reports — ask an Owner or Admin. "This range is incomplete" on a custom range means give both a from and a to date.
