Estimates, and accepting one

A priced quote for work before it starts, which you accept or decline before it becomes anything you are billed for.

When you would use this: to review a price this firm has quoted you, ask for a new one, or make your decision known.

Accepting or declining: open "Estimates" and select the one you want. While it is waiting on you, you are shown "Your decision" — accepting confirms the work and the price quoted; declining tells the firm you do not want to proceed, and you can say why if you choose to. Once decided, the estimate shows who decided it and when, and that cannot be changed afterwards — ask the firm for a fresh estimate if you change your mind.

Requesting one: use "Request a quote" to ask this firm to price something new. Describe what you need; the firm turns it into a priced estimate and it then behaves exactly like any other one waiting on your decision.

What each status means: sent (waiting on you), accepted, declined, expired (the date it was valid until has passed — ask for a new one), or invoiced (accepted and already turned into a bill, shown with a link to it).

When it refuses: an estimate past its expiry date can no longer be accepted from here — ask the firm to reissue it. "Estimates" missing from your menu means this firm does not offer quoting to its customers through the portal.
