Email templates
Every message the product sends under your name to a customer or contact — its wording, who it goes to, and whether it goes at all — organised as a catalogue of fixed message types rather than a searchable list, since most of a fresh firm's catalogue has never been triggered yet.
When you would use this: changing the wording of an automated message (an invoice sent, a payment reminder, a proposal accepted), or switching one off entirely.
Switching a message off: any message in the catalogue can be disabled; the count of how many currently are shows at the top of the screen, so a firm that has quietly gone silent on reminders notices it here rather than from a customer asking why they never hear anything.
Staff-facing events are different: what a colleague is told inside the app — a ticket assigned to them, a mention — is a notification, not a template, and its wording and channel are set on Notifications, not here.
Staff only: there is no client-portal version of this screen and there is not meant to be one — a customer reading which of their own notifications a firm has switched off is not something any firm wants to show them.
A narrower view: viewing the catalogue needs only the ability to read settings; editing a message's wording or its on/off switch needs the further capability to write them.
When it refuses: "Email templates are not available to your role" means you cannot see the catalogue — ask an Owner or Admin. Seeing it without an edit control on each message means you can view but not change it.
