Your preferences

How the product looks and behaves for you specifically — reached from your own profile menu, not the Setup sidebar, because nothing on it affects anyone but you.

When you would use this: the interface is too dense or too sparse for your taste, you want dark mode, or you want fewer emails.

Appearance: Theme (System follows your device; Light and Dark stay put wherever you sign in), Density (Compact tightens table rows and panel headers to fit more on screen — nothing is hidden either way, only closer together), and Charts open as (Chart or Table — every chart in the product has a table of the same numbers behind it; this only decides which you see first, and you can still flip any single chart either way).

Navigation: Keep the menu open — off, the sidebar narrows to icons that name themselves when you point at or focus them; on, it stays at full width. The arrow at the foot of the menu does the same thing.

After signing in, open: which screen you land on right after signing in, instead of always the dashboard.

Lists: your own page size for lists, overriding your firm's default for you alone — choosing nothing here just means you use whatever the firm has set.

Notifications, by email: how often the product emails you about things you are not currently watching in the app — as they happen, a daily or weekly summary, or never. The default is "as it happens," deliberately, so a firm that never configures this is not one where mail silently never went out; turning it off is something you choose, not something that happens to you by omission.

A narrower view: none — every signed-in staff member has these preferences and sets only their own; there is no capability gate on any of it.

When it refuses: nothing on this screen is ever refused to a signed-in colleague — it holds no setting that affects anyone else.
