SMS

Your own SMS provider, connected with your own account's credentials, and a handful of time-sensitive events you can choose to also send by text.

When you would use this: an appointment reminder, a payment reminder or another time-sensitive event needs to reach someone faster or more reliably than email — nothing switches to SMS on its own until you connect a provider and choose to use it.

Connecting a provider: Twilio ships first; the design behind this screen already allows for other providers without the screen itself changing. You supply your own account's credentials — this is never a shared, product-wide number.

Choosing what sends by text: four specific triggers can be turned on individually; everything else stays email-only regardless.

A narrower view: none — seeing and configuring SMS both need the same capability to write settings.

When it refuses: "SMS settings are not available to your role" means you lack the permission to write settings — ask an Owner or Admin.
